A Lunch and Learn on safe sleep practices for infants will be held at the Baker County Health Department on November 16 from noon to 1 pm.
The program, hosted by the health department's nonprofit Healthy Baker, Inc. and the Northeast Florida Healthy Start Coalition, will be presented by pediatrician Dr. Bruce McIntosh.
“The event is a response and an effort to reduce the infant mortality in Baker County since it is nearly three times higher than the state average and 40 percent of these deaths are sleeping related,” said local Healthy Start coordinator Sue Murphy.
