Share Shirley Mae Davis, 61, of Glen St. Mary died July 5, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Davis was born in Harriman, Tennessee and had resided in Baker County for the past 26 years. She was the daughter of the late Odis Sitzler and Betty Waldo. She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Ralph Davis; son Joseph (Hodges) Waldo; grandson Charlie Waldo Jr. Mrs. Davis attended the Taylor Church.
Survivors include daughter Gloria (Henry) Doby of Florence, SC; sons Dennis (Dianne) Hodges of Macclenny, Charlie “Cooter” (Kathy) Waldo of Moniac, Ga, Vernon (Angie) Davis of Sanderson and Buford Ray (Wendy) Hodges of Baldwin; sisters Jackie (Charles) Nowling and Ann Marie Riffe, both of Ft. Walton Beach and Debbie (Chris) Ausburn of Harriman, TN; brothers Pete (Brenda) Waldo of Rockwood, TN, Tony Waldo of Phenix City, Alabama, Michael Sitzler of Eufaula, Alabama and Bobby Waldo of San Antonio, TX; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Davis was held July 8 at 2:00 pm at her church with the Rev. Carl Taylor officiating. Interment followed at Cedar Creek Cemetery in Sanderson. Guerry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |

Share Dr. Andrew L. Bridgeman, 64, of Jacksonville died June 30, 2011 at Shands Gainesville.
Dr. Bridgeman was born on July 11, 1946 in St. Michael, Barbados, the son of late James P. and Audrey P. Bridgeman. He was united in marriage to Kathleen R. Boodoosingh, his wife of 30 years. He was the owner and operator of Southern Medical Clinic in Macclenny and a member of the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL. He was an avid fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He is survived by his loving wife Kathleen; his mother Audrey Bridgeman; brothers Warren and Anthony and a sister, Janice Lorraine Bridgeman; numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held on Saturday, July 9 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Alfred Warren Bridgeman officiating. Burial followed in Deltona Memorial Gardens in Orange City. Funeral arrangements were by Deltona Memorial Funeral Home in Orange City. |

Share Harold Wilkerson, 59, of Jacksonville died Saturday, July 2. He was the son of the late Lewis and Leola Smith Wilkerson, and a truck driver who attended the Otis Road Church of God.
Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his wife Deborah Wilkerson of Jacksonville; sons Lewis Wilkerson of Jacksonville, Branden Wilkerson, Gerald (Toni) Wilkerson and Colson (Jennifer) Wilkerson, all of Macclenny; daughters Rebecca (Randell) Davis of Glen St. Mary and Catherine Townsend of Macclenny; brother Franklin (Linda) Wilkerson of Baldwin; step-children Robert (Renee) Graham of Macclenny, Tanya Rewis of Baldwin, and Lydia Wilkerson of St. Petersburg; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter Alisha R. Wilkerson.
A memorial service was held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 6 at his church with Rev. John Spratlin Jr. officiating. Arrangements were under the direction |

Share Candis Thompson, an x-ray technician
Candis Lynda Thompson, 53, of Macclenny died on June 28, 2011. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late William Blake and Carol Boatner Blake on August 1, 1957. She was a resident of Baker County for the last 23 years after moving from Jacksonville. Ms. Thompson was an x-ray technician at St. Vincent’s Medical Center for 21 years. She was a fun loving, nurturing, caring and giving person and loved to cook.
Survivors include her son: C.J. (Jessica) Thompson of Macclenny; brother Dale (Renee) Blake of Jacksonville; aunt Barbara Boatner and granddaughter Kendall Thompson.
The funeral service for Ms. Thompson was held on Friday July 1 at 11:00 am at the chapel of V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services in Macclenny with Pastor Grady Allbritton officiating. Interment followed at Kingsley Lake Baptist Cemetery in Starke. |
