Share George Edward Bell, 79, of St. George, GA died October 11, 2011 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Jacksonville.
He was born August 21, 1932 in St. George to Ernest and Pauline Tanner Bell. Mr. Bell was a lifelong resident of St. George and was self-employed raising chickens for Gold Kist for over 20 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a member of First Baptist Church of St. George. He was preceded in death by son Eddie Bell; daughter Paula Bell; his parents; sisters Irma Hudson and Iva Williams; brothers Ernest Avery Bell and W.D. Bell.
Survivors include wife Barbara Bell; daughter Sharon (E.L.) Padgett; sister Eloise (Allen) Dorman; step-son Woody (Samanthia) Manuel; step-daughters Brenda (Jeff) Skeels, Christie (Jack) Madray, Darlene (Jeff) Doggett; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers were: Chad Padgett, Brad Padgett, Joel Padgett, Jeffery Skeels, Matthew Skeels, J.D. Madray, Shane Madray and Trae Harrington. George had many special people in his life, and he loved them.
The funeral service was held Friday, October 14 at his church with Rev. James Conner officiating. Burial followed at Conner-Green Cemetery. Shepard Funeral Home of Folkston was in charge of arrangements. |

Share Arthur Rice Boyd, 77, of Macclenny died October 10, 2011. He was born in Northfield, Vermont to the late Arthur Rice Boyd and Ida Burnham Boyd on February 6, 1934. He was a resident of Baker County for 35 years and a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Mr. Boyd served honorably in the Navy for 36 years, enjoyed gardening, fishing, military life and family time. He was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy Manuela Boyd; brother Everett Boyd and daughter Dottie Pittman.
Survivors include children Deborah (Robert) Julian of Gonzalez, LA, John Pittman Jr. of Marianna, FL and Kathy J. (Fred) Perry of Graham, FL; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 13 at 10 am at his church with Pastor Torran Dismuke officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery in Macclenny. The family will receive friends on October 12 from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements. |

Share Kunie N. “Toni” Burnsed, 80, of Macclenny died Thursday, October 6 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville following a brief illness. She was born in Kanagawa, Japan and resided in Great Falls, MT, Tampa and Charleston, SC before moving to Macclenny in 1977. She was a homemaker and member of the Baxter Church of God. She was a great cook and enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Survivors include husband Robert Burnsed of Macclenny; brother-in-law J.L. (Annie Ruth) Burnsed of Glen St. Mary; sister-in-law Lois Jean Canaday of Moniac; close friend Shizuyo Duggins of Macclenny; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved pet Gigi.
The funeral Service was held October 9 at the Christian Fellowship Temple with Pastor David Thomas officiating. Interment followed at North Prong Cemetery. Guerry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |

Share Ronald Ray Carroll, 51, of Macclenny, died October 4, 2011. He was born in Montgomery, Alabama to Howard Richard Carroll and the late Susan Elizabeth Davis Carroll on March 12, 1960. He was a family man and enjoyed music. He was an accomplished keyboard player and inherited his ability from his mother. He was predeceased by brothers Lawrence W. Carroll and James David Mosley.
Mr. Carroll is survived by his father Howard Richard (Jean) Carroll of Orange Park; children Jennifer Faye (Michael) Carroll, Jamie Lee (Daniel) Carroll and Ronald Richards Carroll, all of Jacksonville; brother William S. “Bobby” Mosley of Mandarin; sister Martha Carroll Bauder of Orange Park; grandchildren: Damon, Aiden, Devon and Rilee.
A memorial service was held on October 11 at V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services Chapel in Macclenny. |
