Share Alexis Alexandra Lloyd (Ally) died November 25, 2011 peacefully in the arms of her mother and surrounded by her family.
Ally was born February 19, 1997 in Jacksonville and raised there most of her life. She was a student at Baker County Middle School and liked by many teachers and friends. Ally touched the lives of many people with her smile, loving heart, outrageous sense of humor and beautiful brown eyes.
Survivors include mother Rachel Lloyd; brother Cody Lloyd; grandmother Mary Jones; half-brother Freddie Lloyd; half-sister Daisy Lloyd; aunt Chris Becker.
A memorial service to celebrate her life has not been set. |

Share John Harvey Knight Jr., 59, of Glen St. Mary died Sunday, November 27, 2011 following an extended illness.
He was an electrician and enjoyed fishing and camping; he was also an avid Florida Gator fan who loved spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father John Harvey Knight Sr.
Survivors include wife Barbara Knight of Glen St. Mary; mother Betty G. (David) Wood of Jacksonville; daughters Jessica A. Looby and Melissa A. Knight, both of Glen St. Mary; brother Glen M. (Linda) Kirk of St. Marys, GA; sisters Cynthia Cook of Jacksonville and Lynn (Claude) Robinson of Glen St. Mary; step-children Tracy (Roger) Hodges, Trista (Josh) Sweat and Thomas Akridge Jr., all of Macclenny; twelve grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 30, at 2 pm at Raiford Road Church with Pastor Eddie Griffis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Manntown Cemetery in Glen St. Mary. Forbes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |

Share Ruth Dorrity Gazes of Greer, SC died November 18, 2011. Mrs. Gazes was born July 11, 1921 in Newberry, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Benjamin L. and Ruth Lindsey Dorrity. She was a graduate of Newberry High School, a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity in Charleston and attended St. George’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Greenville, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband James C. Gazes.
Survivors include daughter Hope G. Kapetanakos of Greer; sons Christopher James Gazes of Macclenny and Peter James Gazes of Charleston; grandchildren Peter C. Kapetanakos (Kimberly), James C. Kapetanakos (Kimberly) and James C. Gazes; great-grandchildren Christopher and Katherine Kapetanakos; brother Benjamin L. Dorrity of Greenville; and a brother-in-law Dr. Peter C. Gazes (Athena) of Charleston.
The funeral service was held at her church Tuesday, November 22 at 2:00 pm. Interment followed in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Charleston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Project Hope Foundation, 2131 Woodruff Road, Suite 2100, Greenville, SC 29607. J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. was in charge of arrangements. |

Share Jimmy Taylor Hayes, 55, of St. George, GA died Wednesday, November 16, 2011, after an extended illness. He was the owner of JT Custom Marine and enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by parents John B. and Wanda Sisk Hayes and brother Donald Hayes.
Survivors include daughter Jamie Hayes of Middleburg; brother John Hayes of Arizona; sisters Peggy Rivera of Miami, Clara Ring of Alma and Patsy Bushea of Miami; grandchildren Taylor, Kristin, Bubba, Faith, Dillon and Shailee; life partner Melissa Curbow.
A funeral service was held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 19 at the Glen Friendship Tabernacle Church, Glen St. Mary with the Rev. Albert Starling officiating. Forbes Funeral Home of Macclenny was in charge of arrangements. |
