Jerry Ronald Moran, 76, of Macclenny died Saturday, December 3, 2011. He was born on November 22, 1935 in New Richmond, Ohio and was a lifelong resident of Macclenny. He was preceded in death by his parents Everitt and Flora Moran, son Donnie Moran and brother Everitt Moran.

Mr. Moran was a successful business owner of Moran’s Motor and Wrecker Service and Moran’s Motor Parts for many years, retiring in 1998. He was heavily involved in dirt track racing for 45 years and was inducted into the Jacksonville Raceways Hall of Fame in 1996. He enjoyed dirt track racing, fishing and his dogs. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Macclenny.

Survivors include wife of 58 years, Faye Moran of Macclenny; sons Steve (Sonya) Moran and Ricky (Robin) Moran, both of Macclenny and Ronnie (Amanda) Moran of Glen St. Mary; sister Ellen Hilliard of Tampa; daughter-in-law Christean (Tom) Raley of Glen St. Mary; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, December 6 at his church with Pastor Mike Ramondetta officiating, assisted by Revs. James D. Rogers and Torran Dismuke. Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery in Macclenny. Guerry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pauline M. “Polly” Lane, 87, died Saturday, November 26, 2011 in a house fire at her home in Cocoa Beach.

She was born in New Bedford, MA on June 20, 1924. Polly was preceded in death by her husband Thomas G. Lane.

Survivors include sisters Bertha Brown and Irene Lavoie of New Bedford; daughter Joanne (Richard) Wallstedt of Macclenny; son Robert Shields of Leland, NC; grandchildren Brian (Michele) Wallstedt, Donald Wallstedt and Robert Owen Shields; great-grandchildren Jacob Michael and Jesslyn Nicole Wallstedt.

The funeral service was held Thursday, December 1 at the Church of Our Saviour Catholic Church in Cocoa Beach. Interment followed at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.

Attorney Johnny Franklin Farmer Sr. of Jacksonville died November 25, 2011.

Mr. Farmer was born October 29, 1947 in Pine Top west of Glen St. Mary, the son of the late Melvin and Annie Farmer. He attended public schools in Baker County and graduated from Keller High, class of 1966. He was a member of Greater Church of God by Faith in Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by  brothers Lawrence Baker, Elisha Farmer, Charles Belford and  sisters  Mary Farmer and Bessie Coleman.

Survivors include devoted wife of 39 years, Georgiana Farmer; children Zabrina Farm­­er and Johnny Farmer Jr; grandchildren Jasmyn Clements and Imani Clements; brother Thomas Belford (Corrine) of Stone Mountain, GA; sisters Carrie Jones of Margaretta, Rozanne Rouse (Edward) of Katy, TX, Ruby Pittman (Leroy) of Baldwin, Betty Brown (Alphonso) and LuAnne Williams (Vern),  both of Macclenny; mother-in-law Louise Brown Miller; sister-in-law Hildrey Brown and brother-in-law Frederick Brown; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

A wake will be held at Holmes-Glover-Solomon Funeral Home Thursday, December 1 from 4-7 pm. The funeral service will be at his church Friday, December 2 at 11:00 am.

Emery Ottis McDaniel Jr., 60, of Macclenny died November 24, 2011 at St. Vincents Medical Center.

Mr. McDaniel was a lifelong resident of Macclenny and son of the late Emery Ottis and Ruby Raulerson McDaniel. He was employed by the Glen St. Mary Supermarket for 25 years as a butcher and also worked for Winn-Dixie and Florida Wire and Cable. He graduated from the Baker County school system. Mr. McDaniel was a member of Taylor Church.

Survivors include daughters Trina Czarowitz of Raiford, Annastasia (Stacie) McDaniel of Starke; son Emery McDaniel III of Starke; sisters Shirley McDaniel of Glen St. Mary and Ester Stansel of Sanderson; brother Clarence McDaniel of Glen St. Mary; nine grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, November 29 in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with the Rev. David Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at a later date.
