The BCMS Bobcat baseball team stands at 3-1 in its inaugural season with victories over Richardson Middle of Lake City and Lake Butler Middle.
The lone loss was to Suwannee Middle School. Prior to this week’s win over Richardson on March 5, Corey Adams was swinging the big bat for Coach Matt Turner’s B-Cats. Adams was hitting for a .714 average with five hits and four stolen bases.
Chaise Taylor was hitting .571 with four hits including a home run and four runs scored. Will Rhoden was hitting .600 with three hits and five runs scored. Cameron Jones won two games on the mound as starting pitcher.
The squad defeated Richardson for the second time on Tuesday, 7-4, behind a grand slam home run from Preston Sutton. Jordan Van Vactor got the win and Chaise Taylor the save for the B-Cats. The team trailed 4-0 for most of the game but scored all seven runs in the top of the seventh inning.
The roster also includes Will Livingston, Caleb Crews, William Crews, Jordan Van Vactor, Zac Gregory, Dominick Crews, Clayt Smith, Christian Watkins, Ridge Stewart, Jarren Hodges, Colby Kennedy, Jacob Scott and Jacob Angelo.
