Wanda Irene King of Perry, FL, 70, died on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Shands Gainesville. Mrs. King was born in Havana, FL, on June 24, 1942, to the late Homer Turk and the former Ruby Irene Keene. She lived in Macclenny before moving to Perry in 2005, and enjoyed flower gardening and attending her church.Mrs. King was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Gene Turk.
She is survived by sons Doyle King of Perry and Darrell (Heather) King of Live Oak; daughters Anelia Futch of Cross City and Brenda (Dan) Hodges of St. George, GA.; brothers Herman Turk of Virginia Beach, Va., Kenneth Turk of Macclenny and Larry Turk of Glen St. Mary; sister-in-law Jeanette Turk of Denham, LA; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mrs. King was held at Salem Baptist Purity on Sunday, December 2 at 3 pm with Bro. Bobby Joe Hires officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Perry was in charge of arrangements.
