| Ladycats begin playoffs at 14-5 |

Share![]() Kayla Holland The Lady Wildcat volleyball team heads into the first round of the playoffs this week. The girls were district runners-up after defeating Paxon and losing to champions Bishop Kenny. The Cats are 14-5 on the season. The Cats’ hard work was rewarded this week with some outstanding honors. Coach Heather Sulkowski was named 5A Coach of the Year in District 4 of the Florida Athletic Coaches Association. Chelsey Ruise was named Player of the Year and Ruise and Logan Raulerson were named to the All District team. FACA’s District 4 spans six counties. The Wildcats defeated Paxon 3-1 — 25-20, 25-20, 16-25 and 25-17 — on October 25 at BCHS. It was a gratifying win for the Cats, who had lost to the Eagles twice this season. Logan Rualerson had 40 assists. Kayla Holland had 23 kills and 12 digs while Chelsey Ruise had 13 kills. Caitlin Smith had 11 kills and Cati Fraze had 27 digs.
Bishop Kenny easily defeated the Wildcats in the championship match the following day 0-3 with scores of 15-25, 11-25 and 21-25. Kayla Holland led the Cats with 5 kills. Chelsey Ruise had 4 kills, Logan had 15 assists and Brooke Roberts had 6 digs. |
