The Red Sox team won the Baker County recreational baseball league senior championship recently 7-5 against the Rays to cap an 11-2 season that ended last month.

Four teams competed in the roughly two-month league for 13, 14 and 15 year olds at the Knabb Sports Complex.

Elroy Goolage was the league's volunteer director.

"He provided an excellent season that went smoothly," said Red Sox assistant coach Quentin Milton. "He supported our needs, settled all disagreements and served as an umpire on several occasions."
