Edna Dell Wilson (nee Gay), died May 25, 2011. She was born January 28, 1934 in Folkston, Georgia. Edna grew up primarily in Jacksonville and attended the school of nursing at Emory University in Atlanta. She married David S. Wilson in 1956 and had three children: Susan, Cynthia, and Scott.

In the course of a distingu-ished career, she served as a head nurse, nursing educator, and administrator at many prominent institutions including St. Vincent’s in Jacksonville. She finished her career at Northeast Florida State Hospital in Macclenny, where she was a nursing administrator for 13 years. Well loved and respected by the scores of nurses who studied under and worked for her, she spent her later years in Keystone Heights.

Survivors include daughter Susan Wilson-Stern; son Scott Wilson; grandchildren Ronald Philbrook, Samantha Curran, and Brandon and Preston Stern; six great grandchildren.

A private service was held in Keystone Heights at Edna’s residence on Memorial Day at 6:00 pm.
